Today morning, August 24, 2021, a youth debate was held titled “Involving young people in negotiations is a prerequisite for achieving peace.” in Taiz – Taiz Club Hall, within the framework of the Talk program and in partnership with Youth Organization for Development and Democracy, and Manassti – 30.
At the opening of the event, Basheer Al-Toba’i, the Executive Director of YYOD, gave a speech that welcomed all attendees from the local authority and local organizations and praised the high cooperation of Manassti – 30 team to succeed this event.
The loyalist team began to strengthen their case with evidence and pilgrimage in an attempt to convince the attendees that the participation of young people in the negotiation process is a right guaranteed by laws and an essential ingredient for the success of negotiation processes, as they are the most affected by the conflict, and the largest, most energy and vital group. However, the opposition team presented arguments to convince the public of its hypothesis. The opposition team believes that young people are the weakest link in the negotiation process because of external interference and their need for more rehabilitation and independence.

Many personalities from the government side attended, led by Mr. Abdul-Khaleq Saif – Director General of the Culture Office in Taiz, Colonel Samir Al-Ashbat – Deputy Director of Security in Taiz Governorate, and Osama Al-Sharabi – Director of Operations in Taiz Governorate Security Department.
The debaters performed the strongest, and the two teams were closer to parity, but the results were in favor of the opposition team, despite their closeness.
