Today evening, 12/1/2021, a series of training workshops for 30 distinguished students from the Faculty of Art at Taiz University was concluded, within the framework of the project to promote peace opportunities through media institutions, funded by the GIZ, and implemented by the Youth Organization for Development and Democracy.
The training workshops focused on scriptwriting – directing – photography – montage, and lasted for 22 training days. The workshops aim to build the capacities of the Media Department students at Taiz University in the abovementioned fields.
Within the framework of these training outputs, the trainees are currently working on writing film scenarios that discuss issues related to peace and coexistence in their six directorates targeted by the project (Salla – Al-Mudhaffar – Cairo – Al-Misrakh – Mashra`a Wahadnan – Sabr Al-Mawadim). Students will produce media materials using the media lab that was equipped in a previous period of this project implementation.
Promoting Peace Opportunities through Media Institutions Project aims to promote peacebuilding through media products, and design a long-term cooperative mechanism in media training to promote peacebuilding in Taiz Governorate through capacity building for students of Taiz University – Media Department and many accompanying activities.
